Rules on graphics?

(1/2) > >>

Amber:
Is it ok to use graphics that we made as signature files?  Ie... if I made myself a pretty with the cover of one of Jim's books is it going to be some sort of...  copyright violation that I don't know about?

*whistling innocently*  not that, you know, a picture of the cover of proven guilty is my sig file for all of the bulletin boards I'm on or anything...

iago:
Jury's out.  I haven't had to deal with image files in signatures before, so it's a bit of a question mark for me, still.  We'll explore the policy as things go on.

For the time being, I would say, keep the height and width of any images you put in your signatures to an intelligent minimum -- not too much larger than the 'Jim-Butcher.Com Community' graphic you see at the top of the page, which is 400 pixels wide and 50 pixels tall.

Amber:
Thanks, Iago...

*grumble* back to the drawing board ;)

Priscellie:
Just testing my sig, 400x50 as per spec!

(I giggled like a loon throughout the entire process of making this)
