So just what the heck is a Habble?

I'm 3/4 through the book and just plain got tired of not knowing what spire, habble, and batman means. I've read and loved every Jim Butcher book so far, I find it odd and frustrating that he would leave the reader clueless like this.

--- End quote ---
A batman is a military aide, not something specific to the Cinder Spires world.

ITheHellAmFan:
Yeah, they actually made a joke about the original meaning of batman, the one being used in TAW, in Cold Days, when Cat Sith was assigned as Harry's batman.

PilgrimDan:
BTW - "Arch" in this case would mean "ruler", from the Greek "arkhi". Think "monarch" and "anarchy".

RomalaG.miz:
I made it over halfway through before I got fed up with it and just kept thinking "Get on with the goddamn book already."
