gatordave96:
No word counts or pages written to brag about, just to vent about the tedium of editing my first book.

I hate editing.  I hate even more finding the stupid mistakes . . . missing words, duplicate words, punctuation, spelling errors.

Boring, boring, boring.

21k - Admiral's Revenge (7k over the weekend)

Also went through an editing pass on the Falon novella and novel, fixed the ending and wove in a few more threads!  Couple thousand more words on that.

Dresdenus Prime:
The wife and kids were out of town this weekend for a camping trip with her parents, so I got to stay home and punch out a few chapters of my second book. It was tough to start but I think I hit a good rhythm now.

On another note - I discovered a book coming out next spring sounds an awful lot like my next project. It's dystopian and mine is epic fantasy, but there were enough similarities that it made me look twice. It kind of sucks, but then again, the book isn't out yet, so I have no idea how similar the two would be. At least by self-publishing, I can still write mine and get it out there.

Wordmaker:
I wouldn't worry too much about writing something that's similar to another book. It happens. There are a finite number of plotlines. What matters is how you tell the story.
