Shadow Magic
« on: January 16, 2013, 10:17:35 PM »
I'm trying to create a character who can control and manipulate shadows sort of like Nico in the book.
I'm new to the DRPG and the FATE world and am not too sure where to start.
I'm thinking I could base a character off of a focused practitioner but not sure really where to go from there.

Well, if all you want is Evocation (ie: immediate, combative magic) just taking Channeling (Shadow) and defining how shadow works as an element should work fine.

If you want ritual magic as well...it depends on what you want to be able to do with the magic.

I believe there's an extensively written Power in the relevant thread.

There may also be a relevant Sponsored Magic in its own respective thread, but I can't recall and the search function sucks.
Even Chaotic Neutral individuals have to apologize sometimes. But at least we don't have to mean it.

As a matter of fact, I just wrote a Template that does exactly what you're looking for.

That's not your only option, though. You could do what you're looking for with spellcasting too.

But there's no shadow Sponsored Magic on this board. I know because I hit the Print button on the list thread before doing a page search for "shadow". That's a much better way to search a thread than the forum's search function is.
