Can't stand my kids shying back, telling me I smell bad... giving me the guilt trip about how I obviously don't want to be around to watch them get married....
But you know what was the worst part of smoking??? (Other than having to stand OUTSDE in the freaking winter?!!!!) Having my own personal addiction get so bad that it woke me in the middle of the night to have a cigarette while I was half asleep. Yes, there's the part of that which is just *wrong* because it's so dangerous, but the part that motivates me - for what it's worth - is that I LOVE sleeping! My dreams are like my own personal movie every night and I don't like waking up if I don't have to.
That said, I try really hard not to preach to smokers. I know what a PITA it was to quit, both times I did it.

Believe me that was only a surprised query, if I'd started preaching I'd have continued onto the health issues and passive smoking etc. ;)
I've never smoked, but then my father died of cancer (and smoking seems to lead to a vulnerablity to many cancers not just lung cancer.) That refers to the original defence of smoking in the post.
