Different Avatars?

Nice, SMF was a good choice. I looked into it for a RPing community site before I stumbled on a vBulletin license.

Just a wild guess, but the uploading avatar issue is probably a permissions issue on the image directory you're writing to. I had no problem uploading avatars on a test SMF installation, but I've run into that problem with a phpBB board before.

Still, themed avatars are a pretty good idea for an author-centric site :-)

I would very much like an outright ban on images in signatures, or at least a sane height (60px?), though.....

Nope, it's not that.  The permissions check out.  I can even get stuff written to that directory when I have it download an image that's too large and resize it to size constraints, storing it locally.  It just doesn't like accepting uploads (it seems) for some reason -- even though PHP is configured to allow file uploads, and regardless of whether or not PHP is configured to run in "safe mode".  It's a stumper!

Shiggy:
Would you accept 'donated icons' to the board? Icons fans have made, that are related to the books.  Because I've got several.  Understandable if the answer is no.

Berry:
Don't mind me...I'm just testing to see if my avatar will show up.

Liddy Midnight:
I kinda like personal avatars, but if the general consensus (i.e., Fred decides ;D) to go with themed avatars, I'm not going to squawk.

Fred, will you accept submissions of themed avatars for addition to the "stable"?
