We saw the Abrams version together a month and a half after it came out at a discount theater. The projection was bigger than the screen :P But the theater was completely empty except for two drunk ladies and ourselves, and we all ripped on it the entire way through :D

I'm going to repost this in the Media Favorites section:
We were talking about a new Trek series that would be a sitcom. Trek could really do a sitcom. It could rip on all the gaping plot holes and general silliness by providing goofy explanations the entire way through. And of course there would be other problems.
It would be set at either Starfleet Academy or the Federation equivalent of a state school. Either way, it would be about a group of slackers getting into trouble and doing the bare minimum to get by.
It would be set directly after "Wrath of Kahn", and the pilot would be called "Spock is Dead". The students react to the death of a Starfleet hero:
"I have bad news. You're going to want to put your flap down for this one, Steve."
What do you think of the idea?
