Merlin's Courtship (my NaWriNoMO attempt) is over 16,000 words and rolling along. Destroyed a nightclub and running around Boston and has Vampires, Fae and Morgan LeFey!  ;)

Not a damn thing written today... but a lot of time spent working one of my beta's edits in.  And I've also got a nice antagonist forming up where I had some cardboard before.  One of those The Other Side's Redshirts who's taken a life of his own.

to be a little less intense about it.

I think I see grades in a quite completely different light  than you might.

For example, I don't see an 'A' as an 'excellent' grade.

It just means 'This person has learned as much as I can possibly teach them in classroom format  - but actually making something out of it is a different story'.

Put in other words, there is a gap between an 'A' in classroom format classes and actually owning the knowledge.

That gap is so huge, so enormous, so demanding of extra study, attention, effort, out-in-the-wild-on-your-own type willpower ...that the gap between C and A is miniscule in comparison.   Especially if there is a person whose mission in life is to help you bridge that smaller gap between C and A.

(and yes, I am older than neuro)
