The Deposed King:
The three P's in my book are
Production
Production
and...  you guessed it,
Production

You've got to put out the first product so you can come along later and give it the puff.

Anyway have a blast,

I know it can be hard to push a book over the finish line.  You just have to view it as a work of fun and enjoyment and a 'job'.

The first is for when you're on a roll, the second for when you'd rather watch a movie or read someone elses's book.

Paynesgrey:
Couple thousand words this past weekend, but the big accomplishment was the Dreaded Spellcheck.

I've been working on Scrivener, and I shipped the completed sections over to Word to distribute amongst my poor, poor beta-monkeys.  90 pages in Word, 26K words.  (And they're mine!  All mine!  Mwah ha ha ha haaa!)

What made it more fun than a normal spellcheck is that this particular story is a first person narrative with a bit of a dialect.  Nothing so thick and heavy that readers would have to work at sussing out, but the character likes to hold grammar down and tickle it until it pees a little.

Which means telling my spell checker, "No, really, I'm intentionally violating that rule this time."  Again and again.

The dialect thing is kind of weird.  I'd intended a bit of local slang for flavor and maybe the odd amusing Whedonism, but this character just won't let me write her any other way.

My other characters speak plain Trade or T'Ren, they even complain about the kid's teen/backcountry speak.  But I just can't write her narration any other way.

I guess she didn't read that part where Jim says "My characters work for me."
