30,000 words isn't to bad Cen. Completeting works of any length is a good way to improve your writing skills. It's around novella length I think, but for a commercially publishable novel the norm is around 90k I believe. It depends on the genre but I think between 70k to 90k ends up around 200-300 pages. I might have the same problem with my current novel. I feel like I'll finish the tail at around 50-60. Might need to find a way to make it longer.

cenwolfgirl:
yeah i have a bad habit of getting to about there and then ending it
it normally is a reasonable ending
what i might do is put three books to gather that would then be 90K and do each story as parts instead of sprat stories as they are connected to each other
that is when i Finnish writing the other tow
i am about half way though the second one right now
i took a brake to write the short story

Darkshore:
If you came form an overarching plot that connects all three stories that might not be a bad way to go. Good luck.  ;D

cenwolfgirl:
i think i might do that
as they are all conected but it would mean fidderling with the chapters a bit
thank you
and good luck to you
i just have to go do a lot of reaserch in to something for the next chapter but i at least know what is going to happen in that chapter

(i just go a brain wave that might carry me to the end of the book so go reasurch now)

I should talk my first novel came in at 320,000 words.

Wow...that's quite a novel!  My humble little story will not nearly be as long as yours.  I went back and actually checked, and right now mine is around 96,000 words...because I combined parts one and two (dividing it wasn't really necessary - like I said, first story, had a lot to learn).  I've not worked on it for a while, having trouble with the ending, so I've left it alone.  Grrr...  One of my biggest problems is editing and more editing, which is usually a good thing, but it means I never leave the darn thing alone, once I get started.  I don't know when to stop and leave it be.   :P  I'm trying to work on that.
