Does being published as a game writer hurt or help as a novelist?

I say submit it. The worst they can do is send a rejection. Or like I mentioned last time you asked-find an agent/editor where they're available to answer that sorta questions, and ask there.  Another thing-try submitting the query to one of the query places, like queryshark, and see if you get a response there about it.
