Could be the word spooks people - they may assume that Necromancy automatically has to be linked
with Necrophilia.
I know the type, had a friend who insisted that all necromancers are completely obsessed with death and the dead in all its depravity. Though I forgot to mention that there is a web comic that depicts necromancy in an absolutely awesome way,
