Combining Physical and Social Conflict in Torture
« on: March 22, 2011, 08:27:55 PM »
Would using physical violence whilst interrogation an enemy too get answers count as a manoeuvre to aid the social attack or would it count as an attack in its own right vs endurance to get answers?

For that matter one could also use a physical attack to fill consequence slots so that they can't be used for mental/social stress involved in the interrogation.

That makes the most sense using the concequences from physical assault thanks.

I think in a torture scenario, you would use physical maneuvers to tag for an improved social roll when asking your subject a question. Or, as sinker said, doing it as a downright attack to fill consequences. The difference in the two would probably be how brutal you want to be.

That is a wonderful way to visualize it - thank you!

And it gives the victim a metagame motive for holding out as long as possible before making a Concession: getting more Fate Points for those Consequences.
