This hexing debate wasn't what I originally had in mind--I was thinking more along the line of using resources and materials that most wizards and supernaturals won't even know exist, much less how to make use of, like the geocacheing Bony Tony did--but on the topic of hexing, I'm reminded of a cheeky quote my old mechanical engineering professor spouted one day: "To determine the number of ways a mechanical device can fail, take the number of parts, add one, and square the resulting sum.  When electronics are involved, cube it instead."  That always struck me as appropriate in regards to Dresden-verse hexing.

#12. If the seemingly helpless person you have just cornered is confident and unafraid despite being outnumbered and surrounded, you have encountered a Hero in disguise. Run while you still can.

True - it is quite a chestnut. Shutting my nerdhole now. :D
