Richelle Mead's Work! (Board Member goes pro)

<< < (13/39) > >>

Hope:
The title catches me before the cover art ever does.  I read Jim Butchers books  (2x now) and still haven't truely looked at the cover.   Love your book and since I do my mom will and will pick it up quick.  Can't wait for the next one! I love the personalities of the "monsters".  Thank you.

Murphy's Stunt Double:
Crap!

Went and bought Succubus Blues at Barnes and Nobles this weekend (in the romance section, no less). Haven't started readng it since I'm not done with JB's latest just yet.

Today  my friend who is a copy editor came over for lunch and began perusing through it while I was busy with something.

To keep a long story short, she snarfed it. Got hooked on the first chapter and took it with her when she left.

Good thing I know where she works!

Mickey Finn:
She's a good writer...her prose seems effortless, even though I assume it's not. So it just flows easily.....

Richelle Mead:
Oh, man, whenever I see that this thread is still going, I feel guilty for how unreliable I am with posting and checking in with the board.  My personal life is in major upheaval, and I barely tend my own blog anymore.  But I digress.

Yeah, the cover art thing sucks.  I suspect I'm less than a month from #2's cover, and I'm antsy about that.  Another writer just got her second cover, and it nearly brought her to tears.  She's trying to get it changed, but it's hard to say if that'll have any effect.  In cheery news, I did just get the UK cover, however, and it's AWESOME.  Sometimes...every once in a while...I think it's better than the US one.  But don't tell.

And thanks much for the 'effortless' compliment, Mickey.  Sadly, I'm currently in a bad spat of writer's block for my second YA novel, and it is not coming effortlessly.  Sigh.

Well, I don't know much about writing, but I do know software.  And in the software area, when someone tells you something is "effortless" or "intuitive", it's generally because someone (or a team of someones) spent a LOT of time and effort making it so.

The point being, keep plugging Richelle!  I'm waiting for the next book!
