Author Chats?
Kali:
How would others feel about trying to schedule something semi-regularly in the chat room for the authorly set? We're scattered all over the globe so there's nothing like a time we're absolutely all available, but we can try. Maybe something late night (eastern US) on weekends? It'd be nice to know when I can have some hope of not being the only person in the chat room. :)
And we could also have some targeted but open discussions. We could even post the logs on threads, so people who couldn't be at the discussion could contribute. We could start with easy stuff, like "Writer's Block", or "Do you outline, why or why not". The stuff people like to talk about, the stuff that people approach in different ways. I always think those things are interesting. Any other ideas?
Starbeam:
I'm all for it. Weekends are especially good for me; I don't tend to stay up later than 11(EST) during the week. It would also be a way to do a writer's group type of thing, if people have somewhere they can put up their stuff, or a place to link to download it. Off the top of my head I can't really think of too many different topics, aside from some of the stuff that have ongoing threads, like POV and character and such, but I'll keep thinking about it.

I'd really love it if we can set it up for Word Wars! General writing questions seem to already be served well enough in the threads (plus the threads keep the discussions, while a chat wouldn't.)
For the next week or so, I can open a chat from 8-10pm, EST. Anyone else interested in joining me? I'll be in the Author Craft channel for a while. :) I can make it in at other times, too.

I am for it in principle; in practice, I have visitors for the next week and a bit, but after the 22nd I will be home on my own for a week and a half and that would be a very good time to try it out.
I am in EST, and a night person with a 9-5 dayjob; could easily be on evening, given a specific time.

sounds worth a shot to me
