Rules Thread

Is there one standardized rules thread or are they just scattered all over the place in the different stickies?
Then out spake brave Horatius,
The Captain of the Gate:
"To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his gods...
-The Lay of Horatius

This is part of the training for the new bartenders. People, especially new posters, may comment in a variety of ways, and the bartenders are tasked to find the inappropriate posts and adjudicate them correctly.

It's fun!!!!!  You'll see!!!!   ;D  ;D  ;D

A good start is up at the top, under Announcements.

That's the Major Big Stuff.

We're also starting to address some other issues in The Book of Don't, which is intended to provide gentle clarification and not so gentle reminders of certain passive-aggressive sorts of behavior that the odd poster here or there will demonstrate in attempt to skirt the boundries of the Big Rules.  Things like "I didn't call my fellow poster an asshole, I just said anyone who thinks like he does is an asshole."

If in doubt, ask one of us.

Bartenders, like myself, are actually Junior Wardens with Real Moderator Authority only in specific areas, although we will sometimes offer friendly suggestions elsewhere if the situation requires it.  Our (bartenders) word is not law outside our jurisdictions, but you can generally take it as Real Good Advice since we're basically the Minions and Underlings to the Big Moderators like Priscelle and Mickey Finn. We try to assist in preventing issues from requiring their level of attention.  And if you ever feel like one of us Bartenders is out of line, be sure to tell Iago (The Site God) about our driving.
