Soulfire and the Hunger Bar
Mal_Luck:
I remember a couple days ago about a discussion of White Court Sorcerers using the Hunger track to aid in spellcasting or using it as a "Ki bar" for using "Ki Powers"
Has anyone considered using the Hunger bar as a Soul Bar? To equate feeling worn down as Harry describes after using large amounts of Soulfire? The Feeding Dependency for it would be the things Bob describes in Small Favor, having fun, time, living, etc.
Though I would use a different skill than Discipline for the "Soul." Conviction would probably be better fit for the "Soul."

Um...why not just use the Mental Stress track? I mean, as Magic, Soulfire does that already...and in almost precisely the way it's described.
Mal_Luck:
I'm going to shrug on that one. I just saw a distinction between mental magic and soul powered magic.
Probably a stupid idea.

Maybe not...if you want to make a distinction, how about upping the cost of Soulfire in Mental Stress but upping it's power even more than that would normally? Like, by default all Soulfire deals a minimum of 2 Mental Stress, but you get one free Aspect invoke (and thus +2 Control) without accumulating Sponsor Debt on every roll?
Or just a general rule that you can take Mental Stress instead any time you'd normally acquire Sponsor Debt. That'd make alot of sense. Sponsored Magic can already do the reverse, and Soulfire costs extra anyway...

i had an idea for soul fire i posted in a topic a while back i can post it here again if you guys want but its not really connected to the hunger idea. It uses aspects as a "Food" source for soulfire instead.
