Hey, what happened to all those folks who were devastated to have missed the sale?  Ticket #3 doesn't have a single bid yet. :D

Well, I got my Jim-fix at DragonCon.  :D If I had more money, and fewer two year olds, I'd love to go, but alas...

Woohoo!  Was a chance I knew I was taking with going to the concert.
And a tangent, how do you like the Flip?  My b/f is thinking about getting something like that.

From the tiny bit we've actually used it, it's excellent.

I know of three cases of people who had really bad experiences, i.e the Flip became non-function shortly after the (extremely short) warranty ran out.  The company was very unhelpful and generally unapologetic.

That said, it may be that they've fixed things since or that this the cheapest model, this was about 2 years ago.  I'd look online at recent reviews before giving out money.

NOOOOO!!!!   :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

Ugh.  I just knew that was going to happen to me.   Is there any chance to please put in a request for book signings on Sunday (crosses fingers)?

I don't have confirmation, but I don't think Jim is going to have much of a con presence on Sunday.

Peter V. Brett broke the news, so I guess it's okay to tell everyone now:  Jim will take part in NYCC's Epic Fantasy Panel at 7:30pm-8:30pm on Friday, October 8th.  It will include Joe Abercrombie, Peter V. Brett, Jim Butcher, Naomi Novik (and possibly Brandon Sanderson).

http://www.petervbrett.com/2010/09/16/new-york-comiccon-is-coming/

Jim's signings are still being negotiated.  We should have details before the middle of next week.

If Brandon Sanderson is there as well... TWO OF MY FAVORITE AUTHORS IN THE SAME PLACE AT THE SAME TIME AND I'M THERE?!?!  The world is going to end.  I'm not excited about that possibility at all.

All right... Butters... and I don't have the time to pull together a Mistborn outfit.  Oh well.  Coming years, then.

Mine are different.

Those are two weekend passes to the thing I love. Are yours one-day passes to the thing you love?

Oops.  I was wrong.  That's exactly what they look like.  I think I was remembering the reverse side or something.

Anybody want mine?  :P :P :P

Seriously though, I got the weekend pass in the hope of catching Jim on Sunday or Friday morning.  I knew all along this was a gamble,  it just didn't pay off.

I may still make it for a couple of hours on Sunday, but if anyone in NYC wants to borrow a pass for Jim's talk on Friday night...

You might want to hold off until we know Jim's complete schedule.  We should know about Jim's signings by the middle of the week.
