I went with a word that might be useful in world building...
infotainment

Not a world I want to live in, thank you.

kittensgame, Sandcastle Builder, Homestuck, Welcome to Night Vale, Civ III, lots of print genre SF, and old-school SATT gaming if I had the time.  Also Pandemic Legacy is the best game ever.

wait.... you're going to honor MSD's Barry Manilow???  Egads, I guess I would cheat and make a humorous dedication to Barry.  I mean that might be enough to cause the Nano crowd to ditch the whole activity.

I know, my anti Barry is showing.  LOL

Let's see...  I write the words, Barry writes the songs.
I can laugh, I can cry, and I can write a novel, but I can't smile without you, Barry!
Looks like We Made It, but I couldn't have without you Barry!

Okay, I'm barfing now...  seriously!

Good Lord, do we have to use every single one of these?  The only one I think I can even remotely use is defenestrate (and since my protagonist gets thrown down a stairwell, not out a window, I have doubts about this one too.)  Okay, maybe masticate and antiquing can be forced in there somewhere. ;D

Well, that was originally my idea, but the majority of the words are going to look like sore thumbs and an author with a vocabulary hangup.

Anyone wish to change theirs to something out there, but no so out there?

Uhm I couldn't find Gastroturgy anywhere. What is that?
The rest i can figure out since my character has recently become a research librarian of sorts. Most of these words will work I think... just trying to figure out in what context.

Can we get "gastroturgy" declared a "not a real word" since it doesn't occur in any dictionary I've consulted?  If we don't know what it means, we can't work it into a story, at least not in any clever way.  I mean, I could always have someone doing a crossword and asking if "gastroturgy" is a real word, but that's no fun. :D

I could tell you right now, it's not a word that's likely to be in any crossword.  If we can't find it in a dictionary, we can't verify it, it doesn't stay.  Plus crosswords don't generally use big words.

I'm keeping mine.

Besides, it should be easy to write a story involving antiquing and Barry Manilow, the theme can be murder-suicide.

Would Nicholas Sparks be a name that a trendy happening with-it person should recognise, then ?

Well, I didn't put it out there, but it seems pretty simple.  Something JB might find handy.  Gastro  (of the stomach) turgy (study of)  as in Taulmaturgy (sp).... So I take this to be the study of using gastric smells to follow someone...   LOL

Several of his books have been adapted into movies, off the top of my head I think Under the Tuscan Sun and The Notebook.
